Aim

Nourish Research Lab aims to understand and mitigate inequalities in health by means of promoting health and social justice.

Research Scope

This aim is addressed as follows:

  • Utilizing cross-country comparisons to understand structural factors impacting health

  • Highlighting inequalities faced by equity-deserving social groups (e.g., victimized and victimizing youth, youth living in low socioeconomic position, living in single-parent households, and non-majority groups including gender minorities, racial groups, visible minorities)

  • Investigating the nature and intersection of social inequalities among populations regionally and globally

  • Studying the relationship between intersectional social groupings and health (physical, mental, social, emotional, sexual, spiritual)

  • Using person-centered approaches to closely reflect lived experience

  • Identifying determinants that narrow health inequality gaps using equitable and inclusive approaches
